Interesting facts

➤ In test tubes with a volume of one hundred thousandth of a millimetre, Macmillan obtained a solution of neptunium with a concentration of 0.1 g/l.

➤ Different Np ions colour solutions differently:

➤ Np+3 - blue or magenta,

➤ Np+4 is yellow and green.

➤ In nature, Np is formed from uranium nuclei under the influence of cosmic rays and neutrons.
